Economic Dignity for Working Families

No one who works full-time should live in poverty. Yet millions of Americans are forced to choose between paying rent, buying food, and affording healthcare. Today we present the Living Wage Guarantee — a comprehensive framework for ensuring that work provides genuine economic security.

The Living Wage Standard

Our proposal ties the federal minimum wage to the actual cost of living in each county, rather than an arbitrary national number. This ensures that a worker in Manhattan and a worker in rural Mississippi both earn enough to meet their basic needs in their respective communities.

Supporting Small Business

We recognize that wage increases must be paired with support for small employers. Our plan includes tax credits for businesses with fewer than 50 employees to offset the transition to higher wages, as well as microloan programs for entrepreneurs in underserved communities.
